PET Filament Teacher Guide

Updated: Feb 9

This teacher guide is designed to support educators in implementing the PET Filament pathway in the classroom in a structured, safe and pedagogically meaningful way. It provides a clear overview of the educational objectives, competencies developed and methodology, with a focus on sustainability, circular economy and STEAM learning.

The guide explains how to introduce key concepts related to PET recycling, filament creation and 3D printing, offering practical guidance on classroom organisation, activity sequencing and use of materials. It also includes recommendations on safety, responsible use of equipment and adaptation to different educational contexts, helping teachers feel confident when working with recycling and technology-based activities.

Throughout the guide, teachers will find support to facilitate student research, hands-on activities and reflection, as well as suggestions for assessment and inclusion. The document is designed as a flexible reference tool that can be adapted to different levels, group sizes and available resources, ensuring that the PET Filament pathway can be implemented smoothly and effectively.
